Why Online Meditation?

I believe in the power and practice of online meditation in a community setting. When Covid-19 began sweeping its way across the globe, the mindfulness and meditation communities had to find a way to continue to practice together. Offerings were moved online instead of in person. We realized practitioners had the opportunity to gather together simultaneously across the country. One could "meditate" with a meditation teacher in California while living in New York City without the added financial and emotional stress of traveling across the continent and paying for flights and hotels.
As a Husband and Parent, my ability to travel for a weekend or week-long retreat is oftentimes impossible.

Thanks to online practice, I have had the great pleasure of meeting, talking, learning from, and meditating with many outstanding teachers online from the comfort of my home. I have participated in weekend meditation workshops, attended numerous online 4-7 day silent meditation retreats from home, and taken online classes with teachers I would only have had the pleasure of meeting once there were online offerings.
What does this mean for you? You have the incredible opportunity to practice and learn about mindfulness and meditation from the comfort of your home while simultaneously being in the community. You don't need to worry about paying for gas, driving 20 minutes to a studio after working all day, or dealing with challenging weather conditions. Most importantly, meeting online allows you to bring these teachings into your everyday life, your living space, among your families and pets while having a cup of tea or coffee on your favorite meditation cushion, couch, or chair. I firmly believe there is no separation between meditation practice and life. And you get to experience this for yourself.
