March 3 @ 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Mindful parenting is a drop-in practice group designed to support and hold space for people dealing with the bitter-sweet taste of being a parent in the 21st century. Living in a society that holds parents to very high standards and spreads the idea of “the perfect parent” can cause much harm and feelings of isolation. In this drop-in session, we hold space for all the joys and difficulties of raising little human beings. We bring the practice of mindfulness and compassion into parenting itself. Most importantly, we learn self-compassion through understanding that being a parent comes with its fair share of hard times and moments of great love! We can hold all of this with the practice of loving awareness. Learn how to be fully present with your children at any age and when to give yourself a break.
People at all levels of practice are welcome. Beginning meditation instructions are always provided.
The class will begin with a 20-minute guided meditation followed by a talk and end with time for shares and questions
